Accumulator Cover Removal Tool. Remove both drain plugs from the coolant pi pes leading to the retarder oil cooler and drain the coolant. Accumulator piston cover puller thingy.
Accumulator Removal Gas Charged Only Depress accumulator 18 using tool J-22269 or a 6 C-Clamp relieving tension on the snap ring. Kent Moore J-6124 Accumulator. Even so there are a few procedures that can be difficult to complete without a special tool.

I believe I have a leak around the accumulator cover and I would like to replace the o-ring. The accumulator uses a very strong spring under the cover which is very difficult to push into position without dislodging the O-ring under it. Remove both drain plugs from the coolant pi pes leading to the retarder oil cooler and drain the coolant. Remove the transmission mounting bell housing.
